That’s a wrap here at Sydney Motorsport Park, what a way to round out the weekend with Chaz Mostert collecting his 100th Supercars podium!

Qualifying was up first this morning, following the same format as yesterday with the top 10 cars making it to the shootout.

Unfortunately, Ryan missed out securing a spot in the shootout by the skin of his teeth, 0.06 seconds, so would start the 200km Race 3 in P12.

Chaz set the fifth fastest time, making some minor adjustments to the car before the shootout.

A tenth up on the field Chaz was looking to take provisional pole before losing the rear and spinning, costing him the lap. But that’s what happens when you’re pushing the limits, can’t say he left anything on the table for that one!

With temperatures reaching 32 degrees the cars pulled up to the grid to start the race with Chaz at P10 and Ryan right behind him in P12, it would be a hot one and take a big toll on their bodies.

A bit of a déjà vu moment for Ryan in the opening laps being run wide by Anton De Pasquale dropping him down to P17, deep in a battling pack.

Chaz had a strong opening stint, up two positions opting to come in early for the undercut strategy to come out in clear air, effectively P4.

Woody had his elbows out and quickly made his way forward through the pack, one of the fastest cars out there.

Half way through the race, the clouds were getting darker and darker, the wind started to pick up, which could only mean one thing… rain!

Ryan came in for the undercut strategy for his second stop, with Chaz following the lap later, taking a gamble on the rain not getting too heavy before the race ended, both taking roaded Dunlop Soft tyres.

With prime viewing, Cooper Murray and Broc Feeney got in a tangle, with quick thinking Chaz took the inside line for P3. Feeney, not willing to give up and sitting right on the back of Chaz’s rear bumper for the final laps.

A strong recovery drive from Ryan, crossing the line P14 after his tangle earlier in the race.

A massive shoutout to Chaz, who secured his 100th Supercars podium today, he now sits 6th equal in the Supercars record book for most podiums.

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible, to all of our partners, thank you for all of your support, to our fans, thank you to those that came out to the track and to those at home, thank you for watching. We wouldn’t be able to do what we love without each and everyone one of you.

Next up is the Australian Grand Prix next month, the cars will go back to the workshop and we will put our heads together to fine tune them so we can come out swinging in our home city.

Ryan Wood

“A bit of an up and down weekend for us in quali with two P7’s and a P12 today, not the greatest of weekends in the races either.

“Plenty of homework to do, not sure what I’m doing with my starts so we will definitely look through the data to get that right for the next one.

“At the end of the day you’ve got to take some positives out of it, we have ended up well off compared to the first-round last year! A better starting platform and bring in the AGP.

“A shoutout to Chazzie for getting 100 podiums today, a pretty special achievement for him.”

Chaz Mostert

“Well what a weekend, three races with a second, third and fourth, can’t complain about that!

“We didn’t make it easy for ourselves starting tenth today, but overall it was a pretty positive weekend to get the year underway.

“Lots of work and lots of data to go through before the next one, I’ll work working Scaff hard over the next few weeks so we can be back up the front.

“It’s pretty special to celebrate 100 podiums today, it’s really humbling to be honest, something I never dreamed of achieving, something I am going to reflect on pretty proudly in the future, but for now let’s keep adding to it.”
