Walkinshaw Andretti United has today revealed the all-new Mobil 1™ Optus Racing No. 25 Ford Mustang GT, which Chaz Mostert will pilot in the 2023 Supercars Championship.

2023 marks Mobil 1’s 30th year in partnership with Walkinshaw Andretti United, dating back to 1994, continuing with their iconic spot on the bonnet of Car No. 25.

Optus are continuing to keep the Team connected in 2023, returning as Co-Naming Rights Partner after recently extending its partnership with the Team on a multi-year deal. The striking teal Optus logo takes up the major branding position on the side of Car No. 25.

While the reveal of both cars is the first time the Team has taken the covers off a Ford Mustang, today marks a homecoming of sorts for Mostert, returning to the blue oval after three seasons away.

Like Car No. 2, the white and teal colour scheme provides a fresh new look for Car No. 25 in 2023, brought to life by PPG, Signzone and Spicers. Included in the design is the GT stripes down the centre of the car, synonymous with the Mustang around the globe.

As previously announced, Morris returns as a Platinum Partner for their 13th year, a partnership with extensive links throughout the Team and broader business, alongside ultra-high performance LED Lighting manufacturer VALO, Goodyear Autocare, a one stop shop for tyre and automotive services, and Isuzu Trucks, one of Australia’s leading trucking companies.

Returning also in 2023 is Supercheap Auto, Corestaff, Kangan Institute, TES Mechanical Electrical, PPG, Palm Trans, Move My Wheels, UMS, East Coast Lubes, Thetford, Lloyds Auctions, Spicers, Signzone, Anthem Workwear, Raceline Motorsport Racewear, OMP, Albek, Authentic Collectables, Woodstock Bourbon, Oakley, Acronis, Think Technology, Stratasys and TPF Sports.

Joining the team for the 2023 season is Hastings Deering Australia, Lancaster Ford and The Cover Shop.

Mostert will join Percat with his first drive of the new Ford Mustang GT Wednesday, February 15, at Winton Motor Raceway.

Chaz Mostert - Mobil 1 Optus Racing

“The Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 looks so good, I’m a big fan of clean liveries, so I think it looks awesome and the GT stripes top it off.

“It’s amazing to be returning to the blue oval, that first lap will feel like a bit of a homecoming I think, so I’m really looking forward to ramping up to Newcastle.

“Two things have made this possible though, our amazing team who have worked non-stop lately, right through the ‘off-season’ to make sure we have a car to race, and the support of our partners, who have all been incredible.

“To be representing Mobil 1 in their 30th year with the team in 2023 is an honour, and to keep saying Yes with Optus into the future is amazing. I just can’t wait to drive it now.”

Bruce Stewart - Team Principal, Walkinshaw Andretti United

“It’s a huge day for our Team as we pull the covers off both our Ford Mustang GTs, and the Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 looks amazing.

“An immense amount of work has gone into these cars from all our team, which we are thankful of, so their hard work has gotten us here today.

“As I’ve said previously today, the support of our partners has ensured we are here as well, they have been incredible. We are honoured to enter our 30th year with Mobil 1 this year, as we celebrate that milestone throughout the season, but to also represent Optus proudly, an incredible relationship and partnership we are lucky to have.

“It doesn’t stop there though, we’re so lucky to have such an amazing partnership group recommit to us, from Morris who continue on with us for the 13th year, right through to our new partners such as Hastings Deering Australia. Every single one has contributed to these cars today.

“The hard work doesn’t stop here, we’ve got a big few weeks ahead of us, but we’re up for the challenge.”

Brad Phillips - Ampol General Manager, Business to Business

Following the 2020 announcement that Ampol will blend, distribute, and market Mobil lubricants in Australia, Ampol’s General Manager, Business to Business, Brad Phillips said he was proud to see the longstanding relationship continue.

“It is remarkable to see this longstanding partnership between Mobil 1 and WAU enter its 30th year in 2023. Together with WAU, Mobil 1 is synonymous with absolute performance and pioneering innovation, and we are proud to continue to bring world-class Mobil 1 lubes to our customers across Australia. I am sure the WAU team is in for an exciting season of racing in 2023.”
