Chaz Mostert has stormed home to blitz the field in the final race of the weekend in Tasmania, crossing the line over 10-seconds ahead of second to claim his first victory with the Team in Race 8 of the Championship.

It was a flawless drive that never looked in doubt. He jumped Cam Waters off the line to lead into turn 1, and never looked back.

After the pit-stop on lap 10, he put the rest of the field in the rear view mirror, setting the fastest lap, and streaking away from the field to cruise to victory, 10-seconds ahead of Anton De Pasquale in second place.

It is Chaz’s first win in the WAU camp, and our first of the season, the win we’ve come so close to in the past 12-months.

Bryce battled hard in the thick of the action, crossing the line in 17th.

Earlier in the day in Race 7, Chaz put a tricky qualifying session behind him to move through the field.

After starting 10th, he made his way through to sixth. From there he struggled with aero wash from the cars in front, but reporting a positive change to the balance of the race car, leaving him confident ahead of the afternoon ahead.

After being shuffled back in the opening lap chaos, Bryce was also able to move back through the field to 17th, but reported the same issue as Chaz, not being able to follow the cars in front as closely as needed to move ahead.

The win today wouldn’t be possible without the support of our entire partner group and loyal fan base, unwavering in your support.

We won’t be hanging our hats on today’s result however, the hard work doesn’t stop. We now look forward to Tailem Bend, and continuing on with what we are building.

“That was a super tough weekend.

“We finished on a high in that last race, even though the position probably didn't really show it.

“We made some small changes to the car, but made changes in myself and drove the car better and I’m proud of that, but we’ve still got a lot more to go and a lot of homework to do.

“Congratulation to Chazzie and the entire team, it is so well deserved, I’ve seen first hand how much work has gone into this, and we will be working hard to get our car up there with him at The Bend.”
