Chaz Mostert and Warren Luff have finished third in the 2020 Bathurst 1000, capping off the 2020 season with a podium in the biggest race of the year.
They showed consistently good speed throughout the entire 161 laps, running inside the top-five for the majority.
With a few late safety cars at the end of the race, they were in the hunt for the win, but just couldn’t quite bridge the gap to the top 2.
The Mobil 1 Appliances Online No. 25 was a front-runner all weekend, and were rewarded at the end of 1000kms.
Unfortunately for Bryce Fullwood and Kurt Kostecki, their race was put on the back foot early with a power steering issue that put them five laps down.
With 10-laps to go, Bryce found the wall coming down the hill, causing enough damage to put the No. 2 out of the race.
It was a cruel end to a positive weekend, with good speed shown across all four days of running.

“The car was great and Luffy was incredible, he is just a pro.
“It’s pretty special to stand on the podium here, so I can’t thank our team, our amazing partners, and the extended WAU family enough for all that they have done.
“It’s been a learning year for us, we’ve made a lot of gains in some pretty trying circumstances, so I’m pretty excited to see what we can do in 2021.”
Warren Luff
“What an amazing day, a huge thank you to our team who have sacrificed so much this year, our partners for sticking by us, and our incredible fans.
“Chaz did a fantastic job all weekend, and drove the wheels off it at the end, so hats off to him. The car was great from the moment we rolled out of the truck, so I’m glad we could reward everyone with a trophy at the end of it.
“To make it three podiums in four years with our team is pretty incredible to think about, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity.”

“It was a tough end to a positive weekend. The power steering issue made it really difficult to hang on to in the middle of the race, and when we got it fixed, we really needed a heap of safety cars to drag us back into it.
“At the end there, I just made a mistake, sorry to the team for that one, I’m dirty on myself for that one.
“It wasn’t the way we wanted to finish, but it’s been a really positive first year for me, I’ve learnt a heap, and we’ve come along leaps and bounds since the start of the year.
“Looking forward to a big off-season, and an even bigger 2021. Thanks to the team, our partners and fans for everything in a challenging year.”
Kurt Kostecki
“Not the finish we wanted today, but overall it was a positive weekend.
“We made good progress over the weekend, and we had a pretty good car today, it was a shame to have that power steering issue.
“I learnt a lot this weekend, and am looking forward to next year already. It’s been great being with the team this year, so thanks for everyone for having me.”
